Frangipane Tart with Fresh Berries

UDah lama da sebenarnye berniat nak buat mender ni. Tapi, selalu je ade aral. Malas lah. Balik lambat dari kerjer la. tade bahan la. Nak beli bahan tapi tershopping kasut sampai dah terlambat balik rumah la(slurrving those shoes!).pendek kate, macam2 lah.

So, hari ni, bangun sikit punye awal. ikut mak ngan ayah gi tesco beli bahan. sekali strawberries ngan berries tade daa. yg ade, blue berries.haiyaa..(tgk! kan aku da kate. byk cabaran!! nasib baik hari ni hati aku tabah sikit)

jadi nye, balik umah, buat doh utk dijadikan base dulu. siap doh, masuk dalam peti ais. kalo ikutkan si Matt dari Masterchef series tu, kene biarkan si doh tu dok dalam peti ais paling kurang satu jam.kalo 2 jam, lagi better(tapi dalam kes aku,aku letak dalam peti ais. Mana x nye,terpaksa berdeshum ke Alamanda nk kutip strawberries ngan berries.berries tade, so gantikan ngan (lupe kejap ape nama buah kecik tu)......oh ye, ceri.

pertama, doh tu,selepas aku uli cantik2, tak dapt nk dipindahkan kat dalam tin tart. bile nk angkat je doh tu masuk dalam tin, die koyak. tapi tade la aku tension pon. tarik rambut je. so, penyelesain yang aku amik, selepas uli, masuk kan je ape yg termampu masuk. doh koyak pon koyak la. ape susah. aku tampal je la balik kat dinding tin tu. habis cite

kedua, aku termasukkan frangipane tu penuh2 pasal malas nk ade baki(tapi still tak habis pon. ade je buat 2nd batch). sudahnye, bile masuk dalam over, habis macam lavar dah aku tengok. melimpah2 membuak2 keluar. starberries aku pon habis dah kene tutup..waaaa...

Ketiga, lepas 35 minit, aku kuarkan batch yg pertama tu. Tetapi!!! bahagian tengah tart tu tak masak lagi!!waaaa. lapisan atas aku tengok dah sikit punye itam.ngaaaa... ah, otak aku cakap, tarik lapisan atas,alihkan, pastu masukkan balik tart dalam oven. solosai! huhuhu...sungguh bijak otak aku ni kan!

tapi..korang try arr bake something, keluarkan pastry dari oven, pastu masuk balik. sile la tengok ape yg terjadi.....

Tapi takper, baru 1st time buat..

Nak tau cane nk buat, pergi tgk Masterchef Australia Season 2 episode 41. That Matt guy make it seems so freaking easy!

Method

Step 1: Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease and line the base of a 18cm loose bottomed tart tin.


Step 2: To make the pastry, add the flour, icing sugar and butter to the bowl of a food processor and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs. Add the egg and pulse again until the dough comes together. Wrap in cling wrap, then rest in the fridge for about 1 hour.


Step 3: On a lightly floured surface, roll out half of the pastry until 3-4mm thick. (you can freeze the remaining pastry for up to 4 weeks). Line the tart tin with pastry, then rest in the fridge for 15 minutes.


Step 4: For the frangipane, cream the butter and sugar in an electric mixer until pale and fluffy. Add the eggs and egg yolk, one at a time until incorporated in the mixture. Fold in the almond meal and dark rum.




Step 5: Remove the tart tin from the fridge. Brush half of the strawberry jam over the bottom of the tart, then spread the frangipane on top. Scatter over half of the berries, pressing lightly into the mixture. Bake in the oven for 30-35 until golden and cooked through. Remove from the oven and brush lightly with remaining strawberry jam. Serve with whipped cream and remaining berries.


PS: aku gantikan Dark Rum ngan gule merah. info tu aku dapat dari kebijaksanaan Prof Gugel. tapi, aku tatau la berkesan ke tak. Almaklumla tak penah minum rum. so al jalan saja laa..

The Tart is sooo freaking sweet. sort of sweeter than sweets. =____=

Easy On Me

Dah lama tak layan lagu-lagu sebenarnya. Layan lagu ni pun sebab Aina Abdul punya cover and this cover is currently on the loop. This song hits differently when I suddenly realized the meaning of the line "So go easy on me..." I was like straight away imagining the kids saying that line to me....and it feels so heartbreaking..and I feel so sorry and it made me tried harder to be better.. Honestly parenting is tough. Really really tough.. It's going one month more to full 4 years now where I became a single parent to 2 of my sister's kids. Life and things happened to my sister so I step myself in to take care of her kids. I thought then that it was an easy thing for me to do that, but no! Oh God no!! Ya Allah how wrong I was!! My first 2 years in was the hardest and I struggled with the sudden changes I have to made. The 180 adjustment (in every directions) I had to take kinda messed me up a little bit (emotionally and physically).   But I learned  All sorts of things.

A dump post

Rabu dah kejap je minggu ni dah tak ada dah emosional bagai. Alhamdulillah. Sampai tengok cerita Hotel Del Luna part sedih pon, bergenang pon tidak  Part scene sedih tu boleh tak terheran kejap. Cam, kenapa tak meleleh ni? sebab selalunya kalau tengok drama memang senang sangat air hujan turun. Yang aku perasan, diri ni tak boleh terlalu dry sangat emosi tu. Sebab dia bukan betul-betul tak peduli, tapi emosi tu akan build up dan bila dah sampai threshold dia.....mula la break down. Bahaya anyway Many things happened within this little time from the last post. Might be mundane things for others, but not so for me. On Sunday, I accompanied mak to her acquaintance cafe. we had a lovely breakfast together. An english style breakfast.....which is not to my liking and I kept on thinking I want Nasi Lemak! (which they have actually).  and somewhere along our conversations mak touched on when she's 'gone' thingy...I was extremely saddened by that. Like really really sad

Trying is all I can do

This week is an emotional wreck kinda week. Starting from Sunday evening all the way through the week, it's one rocky roller coaster ride. Rasanya hampir semua emosi yang exist this whole universe hadir dalam minggu ni.  Please no more.. Waktu siang tak  terasa sangat sebab serious busy, so otak tak pikir apa. Tapi bila time masa senggang.....Too much feels..too much thoughts... Minggu ni saja First time tidur sambil berendam air mata.  First time menangis sampai mata sembab macam kena tumbuk, dan first time tak dapat tidur sebab menangis. Tapi apa yang aku dapat minggu ni?  It's okay to cry So that I could function well the next day It's okay to feel so much So that I could get closure that I never knew I need And try to move on And to rely to others And to hold on tight on Allah to protect you and your family May next week be better much much much than this week. InsyaAllah.
