lagi berlajalan2 kat taman ntenet(ya, aku suke merayau) dan terjumpa satu entry kat laman blog http://lupekanje.blogspot.com/ bertajuk 'walk the talk'. time terbaca title tu, aku perah2 otak pasal baru 1st time aku dgr perkataan tu(tatau la kalo penah baca/dengar tapi tak teringat). pasalnye, slalu je aku dengar ayat ' talk the talk, walk the walk' (berkat kesungguhan menonton citer omputeh) and I'm not saying that the sentence(walk the talk) was wrong and I kinda guessed that the meaning was the same anyway, but I was really intrigued to know more.
so I google-ed it.
and I found this somewhere in the web;-
Aristotle’s followers are said to have discussed philosophy while walking about with him—hence their name: “peripatetics.” I suppose they could have been said to “walk the talk.”
For the rest of us, the saying is “if you’re going to talk the talk, you’ve got to walk the walk”—a modern version of old sayings like “actions speak louder than words” and “practice what you preach.” Another early form of the expression was “walk it like you talk it.”
Many people now condense this to “walk the talk,” which makes a sort of sense (act on your speech), but strikes those who are more familiar with the original form as confused. - http://www.wsu.edu/
dan aku bertanya pada diri sendiri, am I the kind of person who just talk the talk or also walk the walk?
I'd like to think I'm the latter one. but, who am I kidding with? people who knew me better SUUURRELY KNOW I just like doing the talking part. it's easier that way ^__^
